Patient prognosis will vary depending on the score. Please refer to the notes and literature below for more information.

  • OHCA score

    Probability of Poor Prognosis

  • CAHP score

    Probability of Poor Prognosis

  • NULL-PLEASE score

    Probability of Poor Prognosis

  • rCAST score

    Probability of Poor Prognosis

OHCA score(1)

For all witnessed adult OHCA patients.

Exclusion

Younger than 18 years.
Without bystander witnessed cardiac arrest.

CAHP score(2)

For intrinsic cardiac arrest patients 10 years or older with bystander witnessed cardiac arrest.

Exclusion

Cardiac arrest induced by circumstantial causes (such as trauma, hanging, drowning, intoxication, or asphyxia).
Younger than 18 years.

NULL-PLEASE score(3)

All adult OHCA patients.

Exclusion

Younger than 18 years.

rCAST score(4)

For adult patients with non-traumatic cardiac arrest who underwent TTM at 33-36°C.

Exclusion

Younger than 18 years.
Underwent TTM at ≤32°C.
Required extracorporeal membrane oxygenation.

Formula for the probability of poor prognosis (x = points for each score)

OHCA score*: poor prognosis (%) = 104.2578/(1+3.363926e-0.067359x)

CAHP score*: poor prognosis (%) = 100.0506/(1+772.3823e-0.048742x)

NULL-PLEASE score**: poor prognosis (%) = 100/(1+3.077138e-0.662x)

rCAST score**: poor prognosis (%) = 100/(1+6.7328599e-0.293x)

* The OHCA and CAHP score prognostic formulas were created by back-calculating the graphs of the original papers.
** The prognostic equations for the NULL-PLEASE and rCAST scores were created using the results of binomial logistic regression analysis of our data.
